Multitroid is a Super Metroid remake for the PC, focused on added multiplayer functionality lacking in the original game. The goal is to recreate the original game’s engine as close as possible, and use that to build a solid multiplayer architecture on. Playable game modes include Deathmatch and Co-op in user-made levels styled in the original Super Metroid’s various areas.
The game is in development for over two years by WaveHack, and we’re up to the point where we have most of the engine laid out, including a solid map engine + fully functional level editor. We’re currently working on a proper networking engine for multiplayer. After that’s done, we can incorporate actual gameplay mechanics and get closer to a alpha testrelease and to show more screenshots and footage of the game.
